Learn to Fly with us!
You can learn to fly on any Saturday or Sunday at the airfield.
Instructors are always rostered to train pre-solo students and to provide check flights and further training for other pilots. You just have to turn up, join up and fly!
There is no doubt that the best way to learn is to do a beginner's course. These courses run for 4-5 days and are limited to 6 students. At least two instructors and two training aircraft are used. You can expect 4 or more flights each day and lectures at night.
You can learn quickly in this time and some students even manage to go solo by the end of the course. Most others attain solo-status in the following few weeks depending how often they come to fly.
We offer three courses every year:
January School Holidays - 5 days Monday to Friday
Easter Weekend - 4 (or 5) days Friday to Monday (or Tuesday)
October School Holidays - 5 days Monday to Friday

Please note that people under 18 years need parental permission. No-one may fly solo until attaining 15 years of age, but flight training can commence earlier. There is also a minimum and maximum weight requirement for each glider, so you should ask about this if this might be relevant. All pilots have to be able sign a health declaration and disclaimer before they can fly.

The charge for our courses is $1350. This includes all flying charges, Narrogin Gliding Club and Gliding Federation of Australia (GFA) memberships for three months, accommodation in basic self-help shared rooms, the Basic Gliding Knowledge text book, a pilot progress log and Deluxe Log Book.
Any funds from the course fee remaining at the end of the course are credited to your flying account and may be used for further flights during your 3 months membership.
