Format

For the third consecutive year,  the format for WA’s premier gliding event will be the shorter eight day competition over one week.

The rational behind the shortened event is to make the State Gliding Championships more accessible to all members of the WA gliding fraternity.  i.e. you now only need to utilise just one week of your annual leave to be involved

The State Championships will follow immediately after the regular Narrogin Xmas/New Year flying activities, and is also immediately after the Beverley Regatta, which is held over the same period at the Beverley Soaring Society.  This means that pilots can have the best of both worlds by flying in the eight days of the State Competitions or alternatively, by participating either in the flying program at Narrogin or at Beverley and then flying in the State Competitions, giving up to 14 consecutive days of top quality gliding in the heart of the soaring season!

Location and Dates

The WA State Gliding Championships will be held at the Narrogin Gliding Club, Narrogin Airfield, which is 10km west of Narrogin on Clayton Road. NGC telephone no. at the airfield is 9881 1795.

 Practice Days:

There will be two practice days on Thursday 29/12/05 and Friday 30/12/05, which will be integrated into the NGC Xmas/New Year flying program.

Competition Days:

Saturday, 31 December 2005 (Day 1) to Saturday, 7 January 2006 inclusive (Day 8).

This will leave Sunday, 8 January 2006 free to relocate visiting pilot’s gliders and caravans to their base airfield.

The Daily Prizes for the last day’s flying and the major WAGA State Championship Trophies will be presented during the Competition Dinner.
